This story was created to provide children who are beginning school, with lessons
about the struggles of being different and understanding what makes a person
unique.
This book is about how Lester the red panda was not well accepted by his animal
peers and lacked confidence about being different. In fact, the red panda is referred
to as the “lesser” panda.
Surprisingly, there are very few children’s stories about red pandas, although they
are one of the cutest animals of all and look like they could be a cuddly stuffed
animal toy. Sadly, red pandas are endangered and a secondary benefit of this story
will be to bring awareness to this precious animal.
